A band Al Harlow and I put together to play our favourite Beach Boys/Jan & Dean/Sunrays songs. This version included Billy Cowsill who, besides being a member of the Cowsills, recorded twice with the Beach Boys, subbing for Dennis Wilson while the latter was making the film Two-Lane Blacktop. I worked with Billy in a couple of acts, and it was always a treat both musically and to hear his tales of recording during the crazy days in L.A. He’s greatly missed. The band also included Rick Enns, one of my all-time favourite bass players and, for a very short time, Basil Watson on keys.
