Standards In Silhouette is a trio of Vancouver-based musicians who play classic tunes in the jazz idiom. Sourcing material from Broadway, be-bop and the pens of the greatest songwriters of the last century, every number is approached in a style that appeals to aficionados of the 1950’s West coast jazz sound.

The sparse line up – Saxophone/flute (Graham Howell), Acoustic Bass (Rob Becker) and Drums (John Cody) – makes for a warm, intimate setting. Individually, the players have toured the world performing with literally hundreds of acts, from big bands to duos.

Like the soundtrack to a vintage film, the music evokes a variety of moods, from exotica to straight-ahead jazz. Versatile, and listener-friendly, Standards In Silhouette offers a welcome approach that has won them raves wherever they appear.
