Broadcast Kings

The Broadcast Kings was a swing band just a tad too late – 2000 – to catch the craze. Great players, though.

BIO

Drawing from roots rock, big band swing and traditional pop, the Broadcast Kings offer a tantalizing blend of memorable songs boosted by solid playing.

Containing a dozen original compositions, the group’s debut, NERVOUS CONDITION makes for an excellent introduction.

BROADCAST KINGS -- 2

ROB BECKER – BASS

Rob has toured with WEA recording artist Patricia Conroy, recorded four CDs with west coast folk-rocker Wyckham Porteous and shared the stage with host of others. Stand up or electric, Rob’s playing is always in the pocket.

JOHN CODY – DRUMS

John has toured and recorded with literally hundreds of acts, from a variety of big bands to 50’s rock legend Bo Diddley, western swing/rockabilly with Ray Condo & His Ricochets all the way to cutting edge rock with the soon-to-be released Volumizer. He was featured on a worldwide broadcast with 20’s era sextet Vamp as part of the Masters’ Performance Concert held during the most recent Vancouver Drum Festival. Cody’s tales of touring Canada in the 70’s are featured in Dave Bidini’s book ON A COLD ROAD – Tales of Adventure in Canadian Rock (McClelland & Stewart).

MIKE CROZIER – GUITAR

Earning critical acclaim with indie roots rockers The Last Corvairs, Mike has demonstrated a solid consistency in his style and approach. As guitarist and songwriter for Sony Music recording artists Barney Bentall and the Legendary Hearts Mike has earned national recognition for his playing and songwriting. The group’s GIN PALACE, from 1996, achieved gold status.

MICHAEL KAESHAMMER – PIANO

Television, radio and a host of international jazz festival appearances insure Michael’s calendar is always full. His boogie woogie and jazz stylings have wowed audiences around the world. To date he’s released three solo CDs: BLUE KEYS (1997), TELL ME HOW YOU FEEL (1999) and his latest offering, NO STRINGS ATTATCHED. Michael’s own web page can be found at: http://www.kaeshammer.com/

BRUCE NAUER - VOCALS

Nauer’s unmistakable vocal style and natural sense of melody truly shine on NERVOUS CONDITION. Whether it’s busking in the Paris Metro, touring Ireland and the UK with his band the Riverbabys or performing with the BKs, Bruce makes every note count.

DAVE SAY – SAXOPHONE

From classic Parker to Brubeck's red hot and cool, Dave’s influences are many. A first call sideman, his latest release, ESQ BREAKFAST IN KAMLOOPS with Kevin Elaschuk won raves within the jazz community.
